The U.S. Donald Trump administration announced that it will widen the enforcement of its 50-percent tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to include hundreds of derivative products.

In a Federal Register notice on Friday, the Department of Commerce said the Bureau of Industry and Security was adding 407 product codes to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States subject to duties on the steel and aluminum content of those products.

The department said existing tariff rates against each country will apply for components that do not include steel and aluminum.

Tariff enforcement for the newly listed goods is expected from Monday.

The administration has been levying a 50-percent tariff on steel and aluminum imports since June 4.
