Landslide warnings and advisories have been issued for 13 cities, counties and districts in the capital region, with a landslide crisis alert at the “caution” level in place for six major cities and provinces including Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon Province.

The landslide warnings took effect as of 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Incheon divisions of Jung, Seo and Ongjin, as well as in the Gyeonggi cities and counties of Uijeongbu, Namyangju, Paju, Gimpo, Yangju, Pocheon and Gapyeong.

Advisories were issued for Incheon’s Bupyeong and Gyeonggi’s Dongducheon and Yeoncheon.

Around 1:50 p.m., authorities in Gapyeong County issued an evacuation order for residents of Gapyeong-eup, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Jojong-myeon, Sang-myeon and mountainous neighborhoods in Buk-myeong.

A similar evacuation order was issued for Namyangju’s Jinjeop-eup and Paju’s Gwangtan-myeon and Beobwon-eup.
