The special counsel team handling the case of former first lady Kim Keon-hee plans to summon her for questioning Thursday, for the first time since she was placed in pretrial detention late Tuesday.

In a notice to the press on Wednesday, the team said Thursday’s interrogation is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and the former first lady is expected to travel to its office from the detention center in Seoul’s Guro District.

The Seoul Central District Court issued the warrant late Tuesday night, citing concern over destruction of evidence, as Kim faces potential charges under the Capital Markets Act and the Political Fund Act.

She could also be charged with taking part in bribery as an intermediary under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.

Kim is suspected of playing a role in stock manipulation at Deutsch Motors, intervening in the People Power Party’s election nominations, and graft involving the Unification Church.
