A major Joseon Dynasty royal palace in downtown Seoul will be open to the public for nighttime tours for a seven-week run in September and October.

The Korea Heritage Service said in a statement on Tuesday that it will offer its “Moonlight Tour at Changdeok Palace” program from September 4 to October 26.

Visitors will be able to stroll through the palace grounds under the guidance of palace docents, carrying traditional Cheongsa Chorong lanterns, and view the centuries-old architecture illuminated by special night lights.

Tickets are available on the Ticketlink website.

Nearby Gyeongbok Palace will also offer special tours for international visitors on September 26 and October 5, 12 and 19, providing an opportunity to enjoy the traditional tea and desserts that used to be served to kings and queens of the Joseon era.
