DL Construction’s CEO and all executives resigned Monday after a worker was killed in a fall at one of the company’s sites, prompting a nationwide suspension of operations for safety inspections.

According to the company, CEO Kang Yoon-ho, Chief Safety Officer(CSO) Ha Jeong-min and all the company's executives, as well as a former team leader and on-site manager tendered their resignations.

In a statement, the company expressed deep condolences to the deceased worker and apologized to the bereaved family.

The company said it has suspended work at all sites following the accident and will not resume operations until emergency safety inspections are completed and conditions are verified as safe.

Last Friday, a worker in his 50s died, after falling from the height of a sixth floor at an apartment building construction site in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.
