Heavy rains are expected in southern regions over the weekend. 

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Friday, light rain of around five millimeters is expected in the capital region and Gangwon Province on Saturday, and other parts of the nation are forecast to see heavy rains over the weekend. 

The Chungcheong region may see up to 60 millimeters, while the mountainous areas of Jeju Island may receive more than 100 millimeters.

Southern coastal areas of the Gyeongsang and Jeolla provinces are expected to see heavy downpours of over 200 millimeters over the weekend. 

With tropical nights mostly subsiding, morning lows in most parts of the nation will drop below 25 degrees Celsius on Saturday. 

Daytime highs on Saturday will range from 27 to 30 degrees nationwide, one to three degrees lower than Friday’s.
