Net Purchases of Shares by Foreign Investors Surpass 3 Trillion Won in July

Net purchases of South Korean shares by foreign investors last month surpassed three trillion won, or around two-point-two billion U.S. dollars, as the buying trend continued for the third straight month.

According to data from the Financial Supervisory Service on Thursday, net purchases by foreign investors stood at over three-point-41 trillion won in July.
 
They bought more than three-point-78 trillion won worth of shares from the securities market, while selling 372 billion won worth of shares on the tech-heavy KOSDAQ.

Foreign investors held 921-point-six trillion won worth of listed shares, accounting for 27-point-seven percent of market capitalization.

Investors from the United States made up 40-point-six percent of foreign investors, with 31-point-one percent coming from Europe and 14-point-three percent from other countries in Asia.
