S. Korea Posts Record Current Account Surplus in June

South Korea posted a record current account surplus in June on the back of exports.  

According to preliminary data from the Bank of Korea on Thursday, the surplus stood at 14-point-27 billion dollars for the month, up one-point-17 billion dollars from a year earlier. 
 
It marks the largest monthly surplus and the 26th consecutive month of surplus, as the country has reported a current account surplus every month since May 2023.

The goods account recorded a surplus of 13-point-16 billion dollars in June, the third-largest on record.

Exports increased two-point-three percent on-year to 60-point-three billion dollars in June, while imports rose zero-point-seven percent on-year to 47-point-two billion dollars.
