President Lee Jae Myung will hold a press conference this week to mark the first 30 days of his presidency.

According to presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung on Monday, Lee's first press conference since taking office is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Kang said Lee intends to send a message that his government has settled relatively early without a transition period, and to actively communicate on the direction of the administration's handling of state affairs and policies.

The press event is expected to be a question-and-answer session covering the areas of the economy, politics, diplomacy, security, as well as social and cultural issues.

The spokesperson added that the event will take the form of a town hall meeting in a bid to more closely communicate with journalists.
