Lee Jae-myung’s official term as the nation’s 21st president has begun. 

The National Election Commission(NEC) held a full session at 6 a.m. Wednesday and officially declared Lee the winner of Tuesday’s snap election in accordance with the final vote count. 

In the case of a snap election, the new president’s term begins immediately after the NEC confirms the election results.
