8. The Tense
The tense of the Korean language is basically divided into
past, present and future.
The past tense is made by placing `았'
`었' `였' in between the present predicate.
ex)
| 공부하다. I study. |
공부하 + 였 + 다. |
공부하였다(공부했다.) |
I studied. |
| 살다. I live. |
살 + 았 + 다. |
살았다. |
I lived. |
| 먹다. I
eat. |
먹 + 었 + 다. |
먹었다. |
I ate. |
The future tense is made by placing `겠'
`을 것' `을 거' `ㄹ 거' in between the present predicate.
ex)
| 가다. I go. |
가 + 겠 + 다. |
가겠다. |
I will go. |
| 가다. I go. |
가 + ㄹ 것 + 이 + 다. |
갈 것이다. |
I will go. |
| 가다. I go. |
가 + ㄹ 거 + 다. |
갈거다. |
I will go. |
