SNU Doctor Not Infected with H1N1

Health authorities say that a doctor, who was earlier reported to be infected with H1N1 influenza, tested negative for the virus.

The influenza center at the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs said Tuesday that it conducted detailed tests on a 30-year-old female doctor at Seoul National University Hospital and she tested negative for the virus.

SNU hospital on Monday reported to the influenza center that the doctor had tested positive for the H1N1 virus.

The center, however, plans to hold a second test on the doctor' samples which were collected and kept by the hospital last week under jugement that she might have alreadly recovered from the virus.

The doctor showed flu-like symptoms after returning from a recent trip to the United States to attend an academic conference on gastrointestinal disorders.

So far, the total number of confirmed H1N1 cases in the nation is 67.
