S.Korea Hopes NY Phil Improves NK-US Ties
The Foreign Ministry expresses hope that the New York Philharmonic performance in Pyongyang will contribute to improving bilateral understanding and relations between North Korea and the United States.
Ministry spokesman Cho Hee-yong on Tuesday told a news briefing that the government has positive views on the North’s cultural exchanges with other countries.
The spokesman did not confirm foreign reports that North Korea has invited the noted guitarist Eric Clapton to perform in Pyongyang. However, he said that the government will provide support if needed.
