The nation's business leaders have congratulated President Lee Myung-bak on his inauguration, pledging to support his efforts to revitalize the economy and create jobs.

The Federation of Korean Industries promised to help the government boost the economy and achieve a per-capita gross national income of 40-thousand dollars.

The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the new administration should create a business-friendly environment to spur job creation and corporate investment.

A spokesman for the Korea International Trade Association expected the launch of the new government to serve as a chance to revive the economy.

The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business expected the new government to create a more favorable business environment for its members.
