Korea Tops World Survey on Informatization
A survey has ranked Korea first in the world in terms of personal computer and Internet penetration rates.
Market research firm ACNielsen Korea says South Korea scored PC and Internet penetration rates of 88 percent and 80 percent, respectively, taking first place in the global rankings.
The firm explained that 88 percent of South Koreans have a computer at home and 80 percent logged on more than once in the past week.
South Korea was followed by Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and the United States in PC ownership. New Zealand came in second in Internet usage, followed by Australia and Britain.
