Seoul Stocks in the Hunt for 2,000
Korean stock prices reached yet another all-time high Monday, with the unprecedented level of 2,000 in sight.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index gained 9.51 points to 1,993.05. The index opened lower on an overnight decline on Wall Street but rebounded as individuals and domestic financial institutions snapped up shares.
The index is now only 6.95 points away from the historic 2,000-point mark.
The tech-heavy Kosdaq index finished at 818.79, down 6.54 points from Friday.
