N.Korea Urges Talks on L.W. Reactor

North Korea's chief nuclear envoy has demanded a light-water reactor in return for the dismantlement of Pyongyang's nuclear facilities in Yongbyon.

First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-kwan told China's state-run Xinhua news agency that the reactor should be discussed when the North's nuclear dismantlement begins under the 2005 nuclear agreement.

Kim returned to Pyongyang from Beijing Saturday.

He also thanked China’s efforts in hosting the latest six-party talks, saying he is satisfied with the results of the discussions in Beijing.

Kim also told reporters at Beijing International Airport that the light-water reactor must be brought in if the North's nuclear facilities are to be dismantled.
