Director of the National Intelligence Service Kim Seung-gyu says his agency had detected signs of irregularities in 2004 in relation to the highly speculative slot machine game "Sea Story."

Representative Shin Ki-nam, head of the parliamentary committee on information, said that Kim made the remarks Monday during the plenary session of the committee.

Kim also said that since last year the intelligence service has focused primarily on the involvement of organized crime groups in the adult gaming business.

The intelligence chief added that his service has also participated in a task force specializing in the matter run by the prime minister’s office.
