VOA: China Bracing for Terrorist Attacks
Voice of America says Chinese police have warned of potential terrorist attacks next week on luxury hotels ahead of U.S. President George W. Bush's visit to Beijing on November 19th.
The report on Wednesday quoted the U.S. Embassy in Beijing as saying the warning pointed to Islamic extremists planning to attack five and four-star hotels in China.
The embassy has advised Americans staying in luxury hotels in China to stay alert and use caution.
VOA said several luxury hotels in Beijing that it contacted Wednesday were unaware of the warning.
