Compared to my hubbies taste bud's I am a crazy connoisseur of food! He is a meat & potatoes kind of guy with no veggies. If he DOES eat green beans or broccoli, it's done US southern stlye with lots 'o butter and cooked to death. Yuk!
Thankfully our daughters took after me! I like trying new things and I think you have to sometimes give new dishes 2 tries before you can discount it. Finding someone who can cook it authentically makes a difference! For example, a popular taco choice in Central America is cow tongue. I've had good AND BAD! So when done right with chopped onions/cilantro/salsa picante/a squirt of lime juice, it is sooo good!
Sometime though it's just not cut out for you. Menudo is one of those for me. The latino soup that has intestines in it....yeah, no. It's def an acquired taste!
