The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining 6-point-59 points, or zero-point-90 percent, to close the day at 738-point-94.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened one-point-zero won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-230-point-seven won.
