Interbull Names S. Korean Bull One of Top Breeders

A South Korean dairy bull has been named one of the best breeders globally by the Interbull Center’s international genetic evaluation of dairy sires.

The Rural Development Administration (RDA) said on Tuesday that in the Interbull’s August assessment, the South Korean breeding bull “Jigu” was included in the top three tenths of a percent in the category of milk protein production.

Jigu was also included in the top two-point-two percent in milk production and the top two-point-eight percent in milk fat production.

The administration said a total of 956 South Korean breeding bulls participated in the genetic evaluation and eight made the top ten percent.

A total of 130-thousand breeding bulls around the world were assessed in the recent evaluation.
