S. Korea Experiences Hottest Summer in 40 Years

This summer was the hottest in Korea in 40 years. The scorching heat was especially severe in the south this year.

The Korea Meteorological Administration says the average temperature nationwide from June to August was 25-point-four degrees Celsius, higher by one-point-eight degrees than average years.

This is the highest temperature since 1973. 

Due to frequent tropical nights, the average daily low was also the highest ever this summer at 21-point-seven degrees. The daily high was the second highest in history at just over 30 degrees.
