Heavy Rains Flood Seoul Roads

Monsoon rains flooded roads in Seoul Monday morning.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency says ten to 20 centimeter deep pools of water in the Gangnam and Sadang subway station areas have made the work commute difficult for drivers.

Pedestrian passage has also been banned on Jamsu Bridge from 7 a.m.

The Seoul government is urging citizens to use public transportation if possible.

A heavy rain advisory was issued at 7:10 a.m. for the capital, and the local government is operating 84 water pumps in 38 locations to quell the flooding.
