South Korean mobile carrier SK Telecom has been recognized as the world's first provider to commercialize a network that runs twice as fast as long-term evolution (LTE) technology.

The Global Mobile Suppliers Association said in a report on LTE service that SK was the only provider of LTE-Advanced service among 16 mobile carriers in 12 countries.
