The government will foster five thousand cyber security experts by 2017 as part of efforts to enhance the nation’s cyber security.
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning on Thursday announced comprehensive cyber security measures.
The presidential office and the National Intelligence Service (NIS) and around a dozen other government offices jointly produced the plan.
It calls for the presidential office taking the role of a control tower in case the nation is faced with cyber threats. The NIS will manage and oversee actual operations to cope with the threats.
The government also decided to establish a system to share information on cyber threats among state organizations.
In addition, the government will increase the number of government-designated major IT infrastructures to 400 by 2017 from the current 209, and expand the special supervision and protection by the government.
The government has decided to have key national facilities separate their internal and external network to enhance cyber security.
