48,700 PCs, Servers Damaged by March 20th Hacking Attack

About 48-thousand-700 personal computers and servers were damaged by a hacking attack on March 20th which paralyzed South Korean banks and broadcasters.

A joint response team, consisting of officials from the government, military and private organizations, said on Friday that it has found about 48-thousand-700 computers and servers were attacked after a thorough investigation. This number of damaged computers and servers is a significant increase from its previous estimate of 32-thousand.

The team said that all the affected computers and servers have been recovered nine days after the attack.

The government, however, said broadcaster YTN is still in the process of recovery after suffering another glitch on March 26th.
