Kenya's Kwambai Wins Joongang Seoul Marathon Twice in a Row

For a second consecutive year, Kenya runner James Kwanbai snagged first place at the Joongang Seoul Marathon.

Kwambai, 29, won with a run time of 2 hours, 5 minutes and 50 seconds after starting at Jamsil Stadium on the morning of November 4th and running 42-point-195 kilometers around Seongnam City before returning back to the stadium.

It was the second-best record for a South Korean marathon after Kenya’s Wilson Erupe shattered the men’s course record at the 83rd Seoul International Marathon earlier in March with a record of 2 hours, 5 minutes and 37 seconds.

Kwambai came in first place last year with a run time of 2 hours, 8 minutes and 50 seconds.
