S.Korea to Launch Naro Rocket on November 9th

South Korea has rescheduled the launch its Naro space rocket for November ninth, setting the tenth to 24th as possible backup dates.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on Monday said that the Launch Preparation Committee held a meeting to discuss a new launch date and made the decision.

Meanwhile, in accordance to an agreement reached between the scientists from South Korea and Russia, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) on Monday sent to Russia’s Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center a broken rubber seal, which is believed to be the cause of the suspended launch.

The institute is planning to conduct a detailed analysis of the seal later. It will also conduct a comprehensive checkup on the rocket’s first stage over the next week and then notify international organizations with the related details.
