An official of Japan's Winter Asian Games Organizing Committee said Tuesday that North Korea informed the committee of its intention to participate in the Winter Asiad to be held in Aomori, Japan beginning February 1st. The official said North Korea notified the committee that it would send a 51-member contingent to the games.
