Officials to Discuss New Launch Date for Naro Rocket

The Launch Preparation Committee for South Korea's Naro space rocket will meet Monday to discuss a new launch date following the discovery of a defect that kept the rocket on the ground last Friday.

Officials at the Naro Space Center spent the weekend investigating the cause of the suspended launch, which they believe was put off due to a broken rubber seal.

Launching the rocket this month is impossible as it will take four to five days for Russia to find out why the rubber ring was damaged.

A final check on the first-stage of the rocket will begin Monday followed by its transport to the launch pad. The launch isn't expected to be held until November tenth at the earliest.
