An investigation is under way to find the technical defect of the Naro space rocket after its launch was delayed Friday.
South Korea’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology says Korean and Russian experts will technically analyze the rocket after removing it from the launch pad. A committee for the third launch of the space rocket will be held afterwards to decide the date of the liftoff.
Officials have said the launch will take place no later than next Wednesday, but it’s expected to take at least three days for the scientists to settle on a new launch date. They have to take into consideration weather conditions and the possibility of its collision with a space object after their investigation is finished.
The Korea Aerospace Research Institute stressed that the space rocket should go through a thorough examination, adding that a successful launch of the vehicle should be the first priority. The institute said it is possible the launch date may be set after Wednesday.
