Launch of Naro Space Rocket Postponed

The launch of South Korea’s Naro space rocket has been postponed.

Vice Minister Cho Yul-rae of Education, Science and Technology said that the delay was due to a leak that was detected from a connection between the first-stage rocket of the Naro and the launch pad.

The launch is expected to be postponed by at least three days and will be rescheduled next Monday at the earliest.

The Science Ministry explained a loss of internal pressure in the vehicle was detected by Russian experts while helium was being injected to check for leaks in the first-stage rocket.

Korean and Russian experts are jointly looking into the cause of the problem and plan to launch the rocket after taking necessary steps.
