Robot World 2012 Opens at KINTEX

Robot World 2012 has opened at the Korea International Exhibition Center in Gyeonggi Province for a four-day run.

Visitors to the event can check out 27 types of robots in the ‘robot city’ that has been set up in the exhibition center. Among such robots are English education robots and robots used for walking rehabilitation.

The event will also hold export consultations, a robot competition that will see the participation of some five-thousand teams and an international robot conference.

During the event’s opening ceremony, 22 robots danced to PSY’s Gangnam Style. A joint dance performance by robots and b-boys also drew visitors’ attention.

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said it hopes to create new demand for robots with Robot World 2012, adding that it will continuously provide support to make Robot World Asia’s largest robot-related exhibition.
