Security Tightened Around Naro Space Center

Security has been tightened around the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province ahead of the Naro space rocket's launch on Friday.

The military and police installed four checkpoints on roads leading to the space center, and public access is limited within a ten-kilometer radius.

The National Emergency Management Agency is having 38 firefighting equipments including helicopters and 244 firemen on standby near the facility.

Security has also been strengthened at sea with some 30 Coast Guard patrol boats guarding around the launch site.

Maritime travel and fishing will be banned within a three-kilometer radius of the launch pad on Friday, the day for the blast-off of the Naro space rocket.
