KMA: Weather Unlikely to Affect Naro Launch on Friday

Cloudy skies are expected on Friday when the Naro space rocket is set to be launched from the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Thursday that the Goheung area is expected to see rainfall of less than five millimeters from late hours Friday, adding that only cloudy skies are expected in the afternoon when the Naro space rocket is set to lift off. The agency said such weather is unlikely to affect the scheduled launch.

The agency added that even if the skies become very cloudy, there is little possibility of thunderbolts forming within clouds that could give electrical shocks to the rocket.
