Final Rehearsal for Naro Launch Scheduled for Thursday

A final rehearsal for the launch of South Korea’s Naro space rocket will take place on Thursday now that the rocket is on the launch pad and preparing for liftoff.

Researchers at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute are expected to continue inspections and checkups on the fuel injection equipment and electric system of the rocket's first stage. They will also inspect the launch pad and rocket tracking system.

Though fuel will not actually be injected into the rocket, the institute will seek to confirm through computer simulation whether any problems could arise.

Once the final rehearsal concludes, a joint flight test committee of South Korea and Russia will hold a meeting to decide on whether to proceed with the launch on Friday as scheduled.
