S. Korea Preps Naro Rocket for Launch on Friday

The launch steering committee for South Korea's Naro space rocket will hold a meeting on Monday to make final preparations ahead of Friday's anticipated launch.

The government will finalize the date for takeoff as soon as an accurate weather forecast for this week is out. In the meantime, tensions are high as final checks are made.

Inner pressure of the rocket's first-stage engine tank has been increased to lessen the impact the rocket may receive while it's being moved to the launch site.

Different parts of the rocket will be moved to the launch site two days prior to takeoff. Assembly of the parts will be completed on that same day.

A final rehearsal will take place the day before and on the day of the launch, fuel and oxidizing agents will be injected just before countdown.
