Secretary General Choi Seung-hoh of the Bidding Committee for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games Thursday departed Seoul for Lausanne, Switzerland, to present a master plan to host the games to the International Olympic Committee. The master plan explains the characteristics of Pyeonchang, the proposed venue for the Winter Olympics, finance, marketing, facilities for events, lodging, transportation, medical facilities, environmental protection measures, customs and immigration clearance procedures. An IOC inspection team led by Norwegian IOC member Gerhard Heiberg will visit Pyeongchang Feb. 14-17 on the first leg of a series of inspections of candidate cities which include Canada's Vancouver and Austria's Salzburg. The IOC team is expected to write a report on the three competing venues for presentation to the 115th general assembly of the IOC in Prague, the Czech Republic, on July 2 where a vote will be held to select the venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
