Kim Hae-jin Wins Jr Grand Prix Ice-Skating Finals

Lending strength to a future for post-Kim Yuna, South Korean figure skater Kim Hae-jin came out on top at the ISU Junior Grand Prix final.

The fifth tournament finals in Bled, Slovenia saw 15-year-old Kim edge out the United States’ Barbie Long in women’s singles.

Kim was the first to win the title since Kim Yuna’s reign.

Kim received 48.36 points in her total element score (TES) and 45.30 points in her program components score (PCS) with a total of 93.66 in free skating, leaving her in fourth place. However, her short program lifted her to first, helping her come out on top at the finals.
