Autumn Foliage to Appear in Early October

Autumn foliage is expected to appear seasonally late next month at the nation’s major mountain areas.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said on Friday that autumn leaves at Mount Seorak in Gangwon Province will begin to change on October second, which is five days later than usual.

Leaves are expected to start turning red at Mount Odae and Mount Chiak early next month, while the colors change on Mount Bukhan, Mount Songni and Mount Jiri around mid-October.

The weather agency says depite the late start this year, peak colors are still expected around the same time.
