The Korea Aerospace Research Institute has unveiled the first of two-stages of the Naro space rocket.

The institute disclosed on Friday major parts of the rocket and developments in preparations for the October 26th launch at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province.

The Naro scientific satellite will be attached to the latest rocket and used for space observation. Two previous failed launches attempted to put atmospheric monitoring satellites in space.

The space center plans to assemble the first stage of the Naro rocket and satellite from October third.

The center placed special focus on enhancing the rocket's fairings, which was noted as a problem during the first failed attempt to put the Naro rocket in orbit. Focus was also placed on the rocket’s exploding apparatus which was blamed for the failure of a second launch attempt.
