Preparations for Rocket Launch Underway

Preparations are underway for a third and final rocket launch scheduled in October in South Korea as the first-stage Naro rocket has arrived in Naro Space Center.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute said the first-stage rocket that will take Naro 170 kilometers into space was moved to the space center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province from Russia. It will be attached to the second-stage rocket that will carry a satellite.

It will be the third attempt to successfully send a rocket into space by South Korea, after failures recorded in 2009 and 2010. If the launch succeeds, the rocket will place into orbit a 100-kilogram working satellite to observe space.
