Kim Yeon-koung Named Olympic Volleyball MVP

South Korean Kim Yeon-koung has been named most valuable player in women's volleyball for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The International Olympic Committee and the International Volleyball Federation selected Kim as the game’s MVP, an unusual designation for a member of a team that finished fourth.

Kim greatly helped her team advance to the semifinals in London. At 207 points, she was chosen as the best scorer, and she also ranked high in serves and receives.

Kim is the first South Korean female volleyball player to receive the honor.
