South Korea has claimed a silver medal in lightweight boxing at the London Olympics.

Han Soon-chul lost 9-19 to Vasyl Lomachenko of Ukraine at the lightweight final held on Sunday afternoon local time at the Excel Arena in east London, dashing hopes of winning an Olympic boxing gold for the first time in 24 years.

Lomachenko, who won the featherweight gold medal at the Beijing Olympics, has now become the first two-time gold medal boxer in Ukraine's Olympic history.
