S.Korea Wins Silver in Women's Team Epee

South Korea won silver in the women’s team epee event at the 2012 London Olympics on Saturday.

In a final match held at the ExCel South Arena in London, a team of Shin A-lam, Choi In-jeong, Jung Hyojung and Choi Eunsook lost to China 25-39 for the silver medal.

The tenth-ranked South Korean team beat the top-ranked Romania 45-38 in the quarterfinal before thrashing the fifth-ranked United States 45-36 in the semifinal.

The silver medal was a measure of consolation for Shin A-lam who was controversially denied a place in the final for individual epee on July 30th due to a clock malfunction.
