South Korea’s women’s foil team won the bronze medal at the London Olympics on Thursday.

The team of Nam Hyun-hee, Jung Gil-ok, Jeon Hee-sook and Oh Ha-na took third after beating the French team 45-32 at ExCel South Arena.

Thursday was the first time for South Korea to medal in a team fencing event. Through Wednesday, South Korea won six medals in individual fencing events, including two golds.

The team's victory allowed Nam Hyun-hee to become the first South Korean fencer to medal twice in the Olympics. She grabbed a silver in the 2008 Beijing games.
