The heat wave continues across the nation, with the scorching weather lasting for over a week.
Afternoon highs in Daegu in South Gyeongsang Province posted 35-point-nine degrees Celsius on Friday, while the temperatures rose to 35-point-six degrees in Milyang and 34-point-nine degrees in Gangneung in Gangwon Province.
Daejeon saw the mercury rise to 33-point-three degrees Celsius while Seoul was at 32-point-three degrees. A number of inland areas in the central region saw the temperatures top 33 degrees Celsius.
Heat wave warnings and advisories are still in effect for most parts of the nation, including Gyeongsang Province, the inland areas of Jeolla Province, and Gangneung.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said that the heat wave will continue into next week with no rain in the forecast. It also added that many regions will experience tropical conditions at night.
