S.Korea's Olympic Team Holds Inaugural Ceremony

South Korean athletes competing in the London Olympics have held an inaugural ceremony, vowing to win at least ten gold medals and finish among the top ten in the medal standings.

The 245-member Korean squad gathered on Wednesday at Olympic Park in Seoul with various sports officials, including Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Choe Kwang-shik.

The athletes will compete in 22 events at this year’s Summer Olympics that open on July 27th.

The team will leave for London on July 20th and start training to adapt to the local conditions.

Handball player Yoon Kyung-shin, who is the team’s oldest athlete, will be the flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
