S. Korea to Send 245 Athletes to London Olympics

South Korea will send 245 athletes and 129 officials to the rapidly approaching 2012 London Olympics.

The Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) held a board meeting Tuesday and finalized the 245-member squad that will compete in 22 Olympic events when the games are held from July 27th through August 12th. South Korea failed to qualify in the basketball, tennis, equestrian and canoe events.

This year's athlete total is the lowest South Korea has sent to the games since it qualified 210 athletes to compete in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

The Korean team will hold an inaugural ceremony on Wednesday at the Olympic Park in Seoul.
